Kraken, Remote/Distributed February 2022 - Present
Kraken is a distributed company with over 2,900 people. Founded in 2011 and with over 9 million clients, Kraken is one of the world's largest, most successful bitcoin exchanges.
Senior Manager, Talent Operations
- In my first year, I eliminated hiring debt and took the hiring machine from -1 to 0. This allowed us to capture the data we need to drive the outcomes we want.
- In 2024, in nine months, I led us from a recruiting process NPS of 33 to 82 while the Recruiting organization doubled in size to 57 and brought in over 700 external hires.
- Implemented headcount and requisition management best practices with FP&A, HR, and Recruiting.
- Developed an internal mobility framework for retaining people within the company.
- Implemented approval processes for Role Opening and Offer Approval processes.
- Researched and consolidated our Talent tool stack eliminating multi-purpose and disjointed solutions while positively impacting all KPIs and performance objectives.
- In 2022, led directly and via layers a 50 person team of 30 Recruiting Coordinators, 10 project managers, and 10 onboarding specialists. In October, we developed a plan to consolidate our coordinators into a single ticketing system for all requests and reduced the team to six while increasing our SLA response time and global timezone coverage.
- Built outplacement support services and a team to help employees who were impacted in a 30% RIF.
Automattic, Remote/Distributed May 2021 - February 2022
Automattic is a distributed company with 2,010 Automatticians in 98 countries. They are the people behind WordPress.com.
Head of Talent Operations
- Partnered with CFO and team to align headcount planning across all business units and developed a cost per hire model to improve our performance and efficiency.
- Developed a predictive hiring dashboard that accurately forecasted future hiring volume based on historical passthrough rates and current pipeline. This enabled the recruiters to focus on hitting target inputs to ensure our hiring goals remained on track.
- Introduced sprint processes and OKRs across the entire Talent division
- Oversaw new hire screening and implemented Checkr. This led to an 80+% improvement in turn-around time.
- Built the framework for a Recruiter Activity Dashboard and performance metrics, and recruiting career matrix with competencies for growth and development
- Introduced candidate and new hire surveys
- Increased our data usage and reporting allowing us to better track time to fill
- Built a business case for an onboarding program manager to drive quicker times to impact for new hires.

- Led the growth from 250 to 400 all-remote employees by focusing on sustainable recruiting infrastructure and processes.
